The project emerges from the need to reflect, as a young woman, on themes such as sexualization, desire, discomfort, and symbolic violence. It questions the social constructs that define how the female body is seen, represented, and consumed, exposing the tension between tenderness and power, exposure and protection.
Each image and text fragment unfolds within a domestic fiction — an intimate yet disquieting space where vulnerability and beauty coexist. The publication becomes both a diary and an essay, a visual reflection on how the body learns to inhabit its own contradictions: to blush under the gaze, to bruise from contact, and to reclaim its agency through awareness.
Published in 2024, Blush and Bruise continues to expand as an evolving body of research - an archive of images, texts, and sensations that invites readers to question how femininity is constructed, performed, and remembered.
